FOOD PROGRAMS

Holiday Baskets

Our 2024 holiday food basket list is full at this time. Please take a look at our other programs or contact us directly for more help.

Emergency Food Pantry

The Compassion Center has a small food pantry designed to help bridge the gap for those experiencing food insecurity. Pantry items are suited to items that require little to no preparation or cooking facilities. We also carry basic hygiene kits. These items can be picked up any time during our walk-in hours. *Due to limited donations, recipients are limited to receiving food bags once a month.

COMMUNITY

ESL Classes

We are excited to be able to offer beginner ESL classes for adults to learn conversational English. Classes are free and open to all adults. Classes will take place at Bethany Compassion Center on Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 AM. Sign up here. Our classes will break for the months of July & August and will resume in September.

Laundry Program

For those who don’t have access to a washer and dryer or are struggling with the high cost at the laundromat, we offer a laundry program on Thursday afternoons beginning at 3 PM (last load goes in at 4:30 PM) and Saturday mornings beginning at 9 AM (last load goes in at 10:30 AM). Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants handle their own laundry and are asked to remain on-site while washing their clothes. We will provide all of the necessary supplies. Space is limited, so participants are restricted to one load per person (or two loads per household).

Community Advocacy

We work with clients in crisis to help connect them to and navigate through community resources (housing, financial assistance, treatment programs, etc.)

Summer Bash

Summer Bash is our way of bringing some much-needed resources and a day of fun to our community. Our annual bash provides free lunch, groceries, backpacks & school supplies, popcorn & snow cones, local resources, and fun for the whole family.
